Appleby Frodingham Chess Club have decided to change their name to Scunthorpe Chess Club. Past references on the website may refer to the old club name but any new references will use the new name. The club venue has not changed.
This year's Lincoln Rapidplay will be held at our new venue at the Chapter House in Lincoln Cathedral on Saturday 15th August. Online entry is now open. Entry is strictly limited to 80 players and we usually sell out a couple of weeks before the event date. So please enter early to avoid disappointment.
The Lincolnshire County Championships will take place on 11-12th July at The Training Centre, Lindum Business Park, North Hykeham, Lincoln. There are two section - Open and U1825. 5 rounds will be played over 2 days. An entry form is available to download.
The minor team retain their MCCU title with a convincing win at home against Derbyshire and qualify for the national stages. The match score was 11½-4½. Full results
The Amos Burn Memorial Blitz competition took place on Sunday 23rd November. This was a 15 round Blitz with a time control of 5 mins + 2 sec inc. There were 4 players from Lincoln taking part. Alexandr Klimchik finished =5th and won £62.50 prize money. Here are the results for all the Lincs players who took part in the competition (all scores out of 15)
The minor team comfortably won their opening match against Worcestershire by a score of 11½-4½. Full results

Grimsby Chess Club are celebrating their 150th Anniversary this year and are holding a Rapidplay tournament on Sunday 21st September as part of their celebrations. For further information please visit the competition website.
